Daha beş altı yıl öncesine kadar görme bozuklukları hipermetrop, miyop ve astigmat (kornea distorsiyonu) olarak tanımlanıyordu. Ancak hızlı gelişen teknoloji görme kusurlarının nokta nokta ölçülüp bunun matematiksel değerlere dönüştürülmesini mümkün kıldı. Bu yöntem Amerika da FDA (Food and Drug Administration) tarafından onaylanmıştır. Aberrometre insan gözündeki algılama hatalarının nesnel ve sayısal olarak kusursuz belirlenmesinde kullanılan bir teşhis cihazıdır. Wavefront-Lasik veya lasek aberrometreden alınan değerler temelinde yapılır.

Teknolojik gelişmeler ve göz hastalıkları teşhisindeki ilerlemeler sayesinde kişiye özel lazer tedavisi uygulanabilmektedir. Aberrometri (gözün tamamının ışığı kırma yeteneğindeki hataların ölçümü) sayesinde gerekli hassas ölçüm sonuçları bulgulanır.
 
Aberrometre yönteminde göze gönderilen ışıktan yansıyan dalga cephesi cok küçük optik sensörler tarafindan ölçülerek yansıma hızındaki sapmalar hesaplanır ve sonuç dalga haritası olarak görüntülenir. Yani optik sistemdeki tüm ışığı kırma hataları grafiksel olarak gösterilir. Prof. Dr. Halil Bahçecioğlu bu sayede gözdeki bütün sapmalara dair elde edilen verileri hastaya özel tedavide kullanır. Aberrometre destekli bu lasik yönteminde karanlıkta görme yeteneği iyileştirilir. Genel olarak kontrastları daha iyi görme özelliği kazandırılır.Gözdeki eğrilmeleri ve sapmaları kesin bir şekilde tespit etmek icin hastanemizde detaylı ön muayeneler yapılır. Ayrica sadece manuel değil, bilgisayar analizine dayalı karanlıkta göz bebeği ölçümleri yapılır. Lazer tedavilerinde göz bebeğinin karanlık ortama adaptasyonu sonrası halinden daha büyük olması gereken mümkün olan en büyük alan çapı seçilir. Ameliyatlarda Flying-Spot-Mod ve 1mm ye kadar noktaları belirleyen yüksek frekanslı eyetracker göz takip sistemi özelliklerine sahip lazer kullanılır.
 
Önce tam olarak retinaya odaklanmış ışın demeti göze gönderilir. Bu noktadan yansıma yoluyla bir ışık dalga cephesi kornea ve mercekten yayılır. Geri dönen ışık dalgası aberrometre tarafından analiz edilir. Bir mercek sistemiyle CCD kameraya yönlendirilen ışık dalgasını bilgisayar degerlendirir.
 
Mercek sisteminden geçen ışık noktalarındaki yoğunluk değişimleri ve bu noktalardaki büyütme, küçültme, ve çarpıtma / bozulma efektleri sayesinde miyopluk, hipermetropluk ve kornea yüzeyi eğrilikleri gibi ışık kırılması hataları diyoptri değerleri olarak belirlendiği gibi, görme kalitesini düşüren daha yüksek düzeyli sapmalar da bu yöntemle ortaya çıkarılır.
 
Göz herhangi bir görme kusuru olmaması durumunda ışığı düz bir dalga cephesi şeklinde yansıtır. Aksi durumda düzensiz bir dalga cephesi olarak Miyopluk, hipermetropluk ve kornea distorsiyonlarının gözlük veya lens yardımıyla giderilmes,i gözdeki sapmaların bir bütün olarak dikkate alınmaması anlamına gelir. Aberrometre yardımıyla yapılan lazer tedavilerinde bu sapmaların giderilmesi yanında gözlük veya lense ihtiyaç kalmadan daha iyi bir görme kalitesine ulaşmak mümkün olur.
 
Prof.Dr. Halil Bahçecioğlu tedavinizde aberrometre yönteminin uygulanması gerekliliğine dair görüşünü yapacağı detaylı ön muayenede size bildirecektir.
